Nestabilities Now Tutorial #3
Step 1
Take your card base and layer another color cardstock on the front. Here, I used Regal Rose. This card measure 4.25" square.
Step 2
Create your Cuttlebug sandwich for CUTTING by layering from the bottom up:
- A plate
- C plate
- Nestabilities die, blade side up (that's the ridge on the die)
- Card front (make sure you only place the card front on the die, otherwise it will cut both the back and front of the card) Also, I'm only cutting a portion of the card front which I'll explain in the next step.
- B plate
NOTE: I've spread out the layers in the picture so you can see all of the layers. When you actually layer them, they will be directly on top of each other as shown in the next step. Also, use the size die that fits your purpose. For this card, I used the largest scallop circle in the Small Classic Scallop Circle set.
Step 3
Roll your sandwich halfway through the Cuttlebug. Make sure you only roll it through to where the fold in the card is, because you only want the FRONT of the card to be cut! Once you roll it through to the fold, reverse and roll the sandwich back out.
Step 4
Take your card out of the sandwich and cut the remainder of the edges of the fold that are still attached.
Step 5
Now fit your card front back into the die so that you can emboss that edge. Make your Cuttlebug sandwich for embossing by layering from the bottom up:
- A plate
- B plate
- Spellbinders Magnetic Placement mat.
- Nestabilities die, blade side up
- Scalloped card front
- Spellbinders Tan Emboss Mat (from the Spellbinders Charm Embossing Kit)
- B plate
Step 6
Roll your sandwich halfway through the Cuttlebug. Again, roll through until the fold in the card, then reverse and roll the sandwich back out. Remove your cut and embossed card from the sandwich.
Step 7
Stamp on the inside of the card. NOTE: I inked up and stamped the girl and guy separately because I wanted more space between them so you would only see the girl when the front flap is closed.
Step 8
Color, stamp and embellish to finish card. For this card, I used my Prismacolor and Copic markers to color. I separated the inside sentiment using a Basic Black marker and a Regal Rose marker. I framed the top and bottom of the inside of the card with purple cardstock and cut slits in the front of the card to lace the ribbon through. Lastly, I added Dew Drops on each of the scallops on the front of the card.
